One of our favorite hidden gems at Walt Disney World is Beaches and Cream at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Buried behind Stormalong Bay along the walkway between the Yacht and Beach Clubs is this sweet, little soda shop boasting what we think is the best cheeseburger on property! I’m a sucker for time capsule restaurants (hello, 50s Prime Time Cafe!), so Beaches and Cream is right up my alley.
Be aware that the restaurant is small. Almost tiny!
And they don’t do reservations, so despite the fact that it’s completely off the radar of a lot of guests, they often have long waits. We’ve waited an hour before, but we’d only wait that long if we were guests at the Beach Club and could wait in Stormalong Bay. Try hitting off-peak times (try a 2:00 P.M. lunch or 9:00 P.M. dinner), and the wait may be shorter. Beaches and Cream now takes reservations for tables!! The counter will remain available for walk-up guests. Yea!
That’s it. The entire restaurant in five pictures. Well, to the right of the counter in the last picture is a walk-up counter where guests can order drinks and small ice cream treats. If you want the goods, though, you have to dine-in.
I told you about the delicious cheeseburgers. Rumor has it that Hurricane Hannah’s out on Stormalong Bay serves the same burger, but I call shenanigans. It doesn’t taste the same.
You’re at an old time soda shop, though, you want ice cream, right? Well, they got ice cream!! Their most famous, though, is the Kitchen Sink. Eight scoops of ice cream, every topping available and a whole can of whip cream!! A whole can?!? That’s right, a whole can!! And it’s AWESOME!!
And if you can’t tackle the Kitchen Sink, the kids’ meals come with this cute little dessert that seems to pacify the little ones until you’re ready to make yourself miserable with the sink…
