On a whim, while on a working trip with Stitchy and one of his soccer buddies, I flipped open My Disney Experience to see where we might be able to enjoy a nice, table service dinner that night. Imagine my surprise when Storybook Dining at Artist Point popped up on my results. Imagine my bigger surprise when the two teenage boys I had in tow agreed to dinner with Snow White. And so begins our first dinner at Artist Point…
PhotoPass
Unlike many character meals, your PhotoPass photo shoot actually takes place in the middle of your meal. The Evil Queen will summon you between entrees and dessert, and you’ll join her in the center of the restaurant for photos. Yeah, it’s a little awkward, but you’ll never see the guests at the surrounding tables again, probably, so ham it up. These pictures will show up in your account after you scan your MagicBand (or other media) with the photog.
Artist Point
Once a signature restaurant, the space has been turned into an enchanted forest. While it may look a little cheesy in the daytime, when dining after dark, the lights throughout the restaurant, especially when announcing fairy tale guests, are, dare I say, magical! The tables are a bit close together, but we never felt especially crowded aside from shuffling to grab character shots.
Food
Following the lead of Trattoria al Forno’s menu-based breakfast, dinner at Artist Point brings table-shared starters and desserts while allowing guests to choose their entrees and, of course, any beverages, adult or otherwise.
We all absolutely enjoyed our spur of the moment dinner with Snow and friends. In fact, both boys were still talking about their meals days later! If it pleases two teenage boys, I’ll just bet it’ll be a winner for your crew, too.
