Hollywood Studios isn’t really known for its amazing dining, but the theming happening in the park restaurants is top notch! While we usually opt for 50s Prime Time Cafe, the aura at Sci-Fi is out of this world! Ba-dum-tisssss!
Modeled after drive-in theaters, most guests will climb into their own convertible to grab a bite and watch classic sci-fi scenes and previews. While most seating is booth style in the cars, larger parties can be accommodated at regular tables “bookended” by the hood and trunk. Additionally, accessible seating is also available in the form of picnic tables at the “snack bar” in the rear of the theater/dining room. The booths are stationary, so guests of size may want to check out the other options, as well.
The Menu
This one’s for the atmosphere. The noshes are pretty basic. Burgers, burgers and burgers. Honestly, the kids’ menu is more varied than the adult options. But we’ve never not liked our nibbles here, and most of them are crowd pleasers.
The Verdict
It’s fun, dark and air-conditioned. That’s a great combination on a Florida summer day, right? The food is nothing to write about (as you can see I really didn’t), but if you’re a sci-fi movie lover or geek out over themed dining, give it a try. My vote does go to Prime Time over Sci-fi, but your miles may vary.
