Magic, Memories, Mayhem Stroller

If you have littles in your travel crew five or under, chances are there’s a stroller in your entourage. These are both a blessing and a curse, but I’m not going to lie. I’m not sad to be back in stroller season with my youngest kidlets. While they refused strollers once they could walk, Disney is a different story.

Those little legs are walking 10-12 miles a day, and the parks are overstimulating! Our stroller provided a spot for them to block out the crowds and noise when they needed and gave their feet a rest when needed.

And…it was a space for shopping bags, snacks and drinks. Not gonna lie. Missed that in the years between my bigs and my littles.

Anyway, being Disney, it’s a magnet for the pre-school set, so thousands of your closest friends are strolling with their prams, as well. The amound of strollers that look exactly alike, especially when renting, is astonishing. If that in itself weren’t potentially confusing enough, your stroller may be moved for a number of reasons (not in stroller parking, safety, someone accidentally thought it was theirs, etc.).

To lower your chances of losing your ride, here’s today’s tip! Make your stroller stand out! In addition to a name tag, add something eye catching. Whether it’s a simple scarf tied around the handle or an elaborate display of battery-powered or solar lights, add something that will help you spot your stuff in the vast sea of kid vehicles.

A few more stroller suggestions…

  1. Traveling in the summer? Pack something to drape over your carriage during those daily downpours.
  2. When entering the parks, all bags must be taken out of your stroller for security. Don’t waste your time Tetris-ing that underbasket until after you’ve cleared the gates.
  3. Carabiners are my secret weapon! I can hook on refillable mugs, bags, etc.
  4. Don’t have a stroller of your own? There are a number of rental companies in addition to Disney’s stroller rental. The perk of an outside company? Lower prices, comfier rides and use of the stroller outside of the parks. If you’re a guest of ours, reach out about adding a stroller rental to your vacation!
  5. Strollers do need to be collapsed to board buses, trams and some watercrafts. Have a plan for this. Our family was and is a well-oiled machine when it comes to stroller opening and closing. Grandma grabbed the bag, grandpa walked with the kids and I folded and unfolded the stroller. The stuff of legend, I tell you.

Do you take a stroller to the parks? Prefer to rent? Or is everyone on their own two feet? Let’s chat in the comments!
