Disneyland Tickets: Your Guide to Getting In the Magic
Planning a trip to Disneyland? You’ve got two parks, a ton of magic, and just enough ticket options to make your head spin if you’re not sure where to start. With options and upgrades, standalone tickets or Disneyland vacation package additions, plus the addition of hard ticket events, it’s enough to make you call a travel agent with a flair for all things magical. And, of course, you can! But we also wanted to offer up this handy dandy guide so you have an idea where to begin. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a SoCal local planning your next park day, here’s exactly what you need to know about Disneyland tickets—what they cost, what they include, and which one is right for your crew.
What’s Included with a Disneyland Ticket?
A standard Disneyland Resort ticket gets you access to either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park for one day. Want to bounce between both? You’ll need to add Park Hopper.
All tickets include:
- Access to rides, shows, and attractions
- Character meet-and-greets
- The ability to add Lightning Lane Multi Pass access for shorter wait times
One Park Per Day
As the name suggests, you can visit one park per day. This is the most budget-friendly and simple option—perfect for first-time guests or relaxed park days.
Park Hopper Upgrade
Visit both parks in a single day. Great for short trips, foodies or families who don’t want to choose between Dole Whip and Web Slinger. You can hop to the other park after 11:00 A.M.
How Much Do Disneyland Tickets Cost?
Pricing is date-based and tiered, especially for 1-day tickets. The busier the day, the more you’ll pay. 1-Day Tickets use a Tier 0–6 pricing model (Tier 6 = most expensive days). 2+ Day Tickets are priced based on season but not tiers.
What’s a Hard Ticket Event?
Hard ticket events are separately ticketed experiences at Disneyland—meaning your regular park admission won’t get you in.
These events usually include:
- Early park access or late-night hours
- Limited crowds = shorter wait times
- Exclusive entertainment, treats and character meet-and-greets
Magic Tip: You don’t need a regular park ticket to if you’re only planning to attend a hard ticket event that day. Most hard ticket events actually allow early entry prior to the event start time!
Hard Ticket Events
- Oogie Boogie Bash
- Sweethearts’ Nite

Whether you’re planning one unforgettable day or a multi-day adventure, choosing the right Disneyland tickets sets the tone for your whole trip. With options to hop, skip lines, and soak in every ounce of magic, there’s a ticket combo that fits your Disney style perfectly.
