It’s not secret that walking is a huge part of a Disney Parks vacation. The average guest can clock anywhere from 10-12 miles per day traipsing around the parks. Of course, among those guests, some are bound to need a bit of assistance. These can range from invisible disabilities to temporary injuries to not having the stamina due to age, pregnancy, etc. Luckily for those guests, they have the opportunity to rent a number of mobility aids at Disney World. If you need a little help around the parks, read on.
What is available?
- Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECV) aka scooters
- Wheelchairs
- Single strollers
- Double strollers
How much are the rentals?
- ECVs are currently $65/day with a $20 refundable deposit.
- Wheelchairs are currently $12 a day. There is also a length of stay option for $10/day.
- Single strollers are currently $15/day with a length of stay option for $13/day.
- Double strollers are currently $31/day with a length of stay option for $27/day.
Are there weight limits?
- ECVs have a weight limit of 450 lbs.
- Wheelchairs have a weight limit of 350 lbs.
- Single strollers have a weight limit of 50 lbs.
- Double strollers have a weight limit of 100 lbs.
What else do I need to know?
- All aids are on a first come, first serve basis, however ECVs are typically the only option I’ve personally seen sell out.
- Reservations are not available.
- All aids remain the the park where rented.
- If you park hop, you may simply show your receipt and pick up a mobility aid at the next park (if available).
- For guests needing assistance to their vehicles in the parking lot, there are courtesy wheelchairs available.
- Disney Springs is separate from the parks, so guests needing to rent there would pay a separate fee. Additionally, the refundable deposit at Disney Springs is a flat $100 for ECVs and wheelchairs.
Need these options outside of the parks?
There are many rental companies offering all of these options for delivery. If you are one of our guests, please reach out about adding this onto your vacation. Having an outside rental will allow you to use your aid around the resorts and anywhere you may go off of Disney World property.
