All-Star Sports Resort
Walt Disney World
Game On, Disney Dreamers
Hellooooo sports fans! In our quest to stay at all of the Walt Disney World resort hotels — and with Maui’s intense love of all things athletic — I decided a sporty stay was in order for part of a long weekend trip.
He absolutely loved Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, and I found it to be a fun, easygoing value resort with plenty to offer from the grown-up side of things too. While it may not have the extra amenities of higher-tier resorts, it delivers exactly what many Disney families are looking for: a cheerful Disney home base at a budget-friendly price.

More Magic Tips
A few tips go a long way toward making your stay at Coronado Springs even more magical!
- Pack a football for Touchdown fun! If you have a sports-loving kiddo (or even adult!) in your crew, bring a football. The Touchdown section is perfect for a casual pick-up game, and they happen often. It quickly became one of Maui’s favorite things to do on property. We’ve even stopped by All-Star Sports while staying at other resorts just so he could throw the ball around for a bit.
- Beware competition season. Typically from January through May, All-Star Sports is a popular home base for youth sports teams visiting Walt Disney World for competitions. This can mean larger groups, busy common areas and a little extra energy around the resort. If you love the sports atmosphere, this may be part of the fun! If you’re looking for a quieter value resort experience, it’s worth keeping the competition calendar in mind when choosing your dates.
- Stock your room with breakfast options. If you’re heading to the parks for rope drop, consider keeping breakfast simple in your room. The food court can get especially busy in the morning as families fuel up before park opening. Shelf-stable snacks, granola bars and other easy options work well, or grab milk and other cold items to keep in your mini fridge for a quick breakfast before heading out.
- Let us help you choose the right All-Star. Movies, Music and Sports often cost about the same, but they each have a completely different feel. We’ll help you decide whether the playful movie theming, Sports’ location or Music’s family suites make the most sense for your vacation. When you book your Disney vacation with us, we’ll help you find the resort and room category that fits the way your family actually vacations.
Our Take on All-Star Sports
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort has many of the same strengths as its sister value resorts — fun theming, a budget-friendly price point and a cheerful Disney home base for families who plan to spend most of their time in the parks.
The rooms are small and simple, and the pools and amenities are more basic compared to higher-tier Disney resorts. This isn’t the resort for guests looking for a luxurious pool day or a long list of resort activities.
That said, All-Star Sports has something special that pushed it higher for our family: the pick-up games at Touchdown. What surprised us most was that it wasn’t just kids tossing a football around. Guests of all ages joined in, adults played alongside younger guests and parents chatted on the sidelines while everyone enjoyed the moment.
For sports-loving families, or anyone who enjoys a little extra fun built into their resort stay, All-Star Sports can be a real winner.
