Would we return? Absolutely. It’s a great resort dining option, especially if you’re already staying at Port Orleans Riverside or looking for a slower-paced evening away from the parks.
Port Orleans Resort Riverside is no doubt a fan favorite resort featuring plenty of recreation, hundreds of rooms and access to Disney Springs via the beautiful Sassagoula River, but did you know it’s also home to a great, little table service restaurant?
Tucked away near River Roost Lounge (home of the always entertaining Yeehaw Bob), Boatwright’s Dining Hall brings a little Southern hospitality and Louisiana-inspired flavor to the Riverside experience. It’s easy to overlook if you aren’t staying at the resort, but it’s worth remembering when you’re looking for a meal outside the parks.
The Scene
Boatwright’s continues the storytelling of Port Orleans Riverside with a rustic boat-building theme inspired by the resort’s Louisiana setting.
The dining rooms are cozy rather than sprawling, which adds to the intimate feel but also means walk-up availability can be limited. A reservation is the best way to make sure you have a spot, especially during the popular dinner window.
If you’re making the trip over, give yourself time to enjoy the resort. The grounds are beautiful, and a stroll along the Sassagoula River or a carriage ride makes a nice addition to the evening.

The Food
The menu leans into Bayou flavors and New Orleans-inspired dishes, with Southern-style favorites that fit perfectly with the Port Orleans theme.
We’ve enjoyed everything we’ve tried here over the years, but the dishes that highlight the restaurant’s Southern influence are where Boatwright’s really shines. It’s a nice change of pace from traditional theme park dining and gives you a chance to enjoy a slower meal in a beautiful resort setting.

Our Take
If you’re staying at Port Orleans Riverside, it’s an easy recommendation for a convenient dinner without leaving the resort. But even if you’re staying elsewhere, it’s worth considering if you’re looking for a new resort to explore or want to pair dinner with some time enjoying the atmosphere.
It’s not a restaurant we’d plan around every trip, but it’s one we’re happy to revisit when we’re spending time at Riverside.
