Must-try: The kids’ dessert Nemo cupcake and a table alongside the aquarium
Would we return? Maybe after some time. The setting is unforgettable, but for us, the atmosphere and food didn’t quite outweigh the noise level compared to other Disney dining options.
Hidden in a watery nook inside Epcot is one of the most unique restaurants at Walt Disney World. Coral Reef gives guests the chance to enjoy a meal alongside one of the largest aquariums on property, surrounded by sea life, beautiful views and even the occasional scuba diver swimming by.
I was excited about the idea of the experience because the concept feels so calm and different from many Disney restaurants. There’s something undeniably cool about sitting down for lunch while sharks, rays and tropical fish glide past your table.
The Scene
The aquarium is the star of the show.
The dining room at Coral Reef is visually calming, with huge windows looking into the underwater world of The Seas. Watching the marine life swim by — and occasionally seeing divers interact with the guests — is such a memorable Disney detail.
I’ll admit, I may have had slightly unrealistic ideals going in. Maybe it was the Full House episode where you could fully hear the characters’ dialogue that gave me false expectations.
In reality, we are still at a Disney park, and the sound level was much more “busy cafeteria” than “peaceful ocean escape.” The aquarium views are still incredible, but the overall atmosphere isn’t quite the serene underwater retreat you might imagine.
The Food
Seafood is naturally the focus at Coral Reef, with dishes featuring fish, shellfish and other ocean-inspired options. There are also plenty of choices beyond seafood, making it easier for families with different preferences to find something they enjoy.
Our meal was good, but it didn’t stand out as a must-repeat dining experience for us. The atmosphere is expected to carry a lot of the magic here, while the food landed more in the “fine” category.

Our Take
Coral Reef is a restaurant we’re glad we experienced because there truly isn’t another Disney dining room quite like it. Watching sea turtles, sharks and colorful fish swim by as you nosh is a very cool experience.
That said, this is a restaurant where expectations matter. If you have a little one who loves marine life, or someone in your family who would be thrilled to watch the aquarium during a meal, it’s absolutely worth considering.
For our family, the noise level and average-for-us food mean it probably won’t be a frequent repeat. But if you’re looking for a unique Epcot dining experience — especially with a seafood lover or an ocean enthusiast in tow — dive right in.
