Garden Grill

TAKE A SPIN THROUGH THE LAND WITH CHIP ’N’ DALE AND FRIENDS, A FAMILY-STYLE MEAL AND A UNIQUE FARM-THEMED CHARACTER DINING EXPERIENCE INSIDE EPCOT.

Garden Grill is probably one of the hidden gems of Walt Disney World character dining. Located inside The Land pavilion in Epcot, thousands of guests walk right past it every day on their way to Soarin’ without realizing there’s a character meal happening just upstairs.

This unique rotating restaurant hosts Chip ’n Dale and friends while offering diners a view of parts of the Living with the Land attraction below. It’s a dining experience you simply can’t replicate anywhere else at Walt Disney World.

As noted, the restaurant rotates (very slowly…you are eating, after all!) throughout your meal, offering views of the Sunshine Seasons balloons, Living with the Land and, well, a whole lot of leaves. 😂

There are two levels to the restaurant. The lower level features booths facing outward, which we prefer for the comfort and atmosphere, although it can feel a little funny when you hit the section where other guests can watch you eat. The trellises that have been used in the past to add a little privacy seem to come and go.

The upper level features tables and chairs for smaller parties, but our preference is definitely the lower level. There’s just something special about slowly rotating through The Land while enjoying a meal with some classic Disney characters.

The Food

We LOVE the food here! Garden Grill serves meals family style, and they’ll keep bringin’ it if you keep eatin’ it! The offerings may change a bit here and there with the season or the chef, but we haven’t had a dud yet. Breakfast is a solid Disney start to the day with familiar favorites, while lunch and dinner offer more of the hearty, comfort-food feel that makes Garden Grill such a favorite for us.

Some of the food served is actually grown downstairs in The Land (at least that’s what they say, and life is more fun when you believe it)! Either way, the food is tasty, plentiful and perfectly suited for a relaxed family meal with some of our favorite Disney characters.

Characters

The food is yum, but the characters are what initially brought us to Garden Grill. We’d heard that they were some of the most interactive characters at any meal…and they were right! Some meals, the characters seem to be a little rushed (looking at you, Chef Mickey’s), but the smaller size of Garden Grill gives the characters more time to spend with guests. When families are playful and engage with them, the interactions can be absolutely priceless.

We’ve had some seriously fun moments here with all of the characters, and it’s one of the meals I recommend specifically for character lovers. We’ve also had characters stop by our table multiple times during a single meal on every visit, which makes Garden Grill stand out among Disney character dining experiences.

Magic Tip:

Because the characters often make multiple rounds through the restaurant, it’s fun to have a few conversation starters ready. By the time they come back around, they’ve probably already done the autograph, pose and smile routine, so give them something new to play with! Tell Mickey how much you’re enjoying the food, offer Pluto a “protein” (because we all know he’s always ready for a snack) or ask Chip ’n Dale if they’d like to share dessert.

A Little Extra Magic ✨

One of our favorite Garden Grill interactions happened when Mickey spotted my grandpa wearing an OU Sooners shirt. Mickey immediately jumped into the fun, throwing up OU hand signs, holding up his #1 and even writing a giant “BOOMER SOONER” in the autograph book.

The best part? It had my 70-something-year-old grandpa (at the time) absolutely guffawing and grinning from ear to ear. Those are the moments that remind us why character dining is so special. It’s not just about the pictures — it’s about the unexpected little bits of magic that become the stories you tell for years.

Garden Grill has become one of those restaurants we find ourselves returning to again and again. Over the years, we’ve collected so many fun moments here — from silly character interactions to sweet family memories around the table.

Here’s a little look back at some of our favorite Garden Grill visits through the years.

Our Take

Garden Grill is one of those restaurants that people seem to either know and love or completely overlook. And honestly? That’s part of the charm. Thousands of guests walk right past it on their way to to that headliner Living with the Land, never realizing there’s a character meal tucked right upstairs.

We love Garden Grill for so many reasons. The food is great, the setting is fun and unique and the character interactions have consistently been some of the best we’ve had at Walt Disney World. There’s just something about a smaller restaurant where the characters have time to be silly, play along and create those unexpected moments you’ll talk about long after the meal is over.

Is it the flashiest character meal? Nope. Is it the hardest reservation to get? Nope. But if you’re looking for a relaxed meal with great character interactions, a fun atmosphere and a little Disney magic you won’t find anywhere else, Garden Grill is absolutely worth adding to your list.

Mickey Mouse loves the Sooners!
