While we’ve stayed at the Grand Floridian a number of times, we had never made a point of dining anywhere at the flagship resort aside from 1900 Park Fare. And we dined there…a lot. In general, at Disney World, I want to be immersed in the magic and tend to pass by things that could be easily replicated at home. While the cafe is lovely, it just didn’t pull those Disney heart strings for me.
Well, since my beloved 1900 has yet to reopen post-2020, I finally gave in to the hundreds of Instagram posts and TikToks touting the glorious brunch at the GF Cafe. Scarlet and her littles joined me and my two littlest for some summer fun at Disney World, and we happened to be bunked up at the Grand. Since the morning table service options are, well, the cafe, we grabbed an easy walk-up and embarked on our brunchy journey!
While the meal was pretty good, the service was just eh for us. Our server barely graced our table, and we waited quite a while to have orders taken, receive drinks, food, refills, etc. Meanwhile, our server is chatting up the table in the corner for a good ten minutes. I’m hoping it was a one off or a symptom of nationwide understaffing. For now, though, even the tasty French toast isn’t pulling us back to the Grand Floridian Cafe.
The Menu
The brunch menu is exactly what it should be – varied, sweet, savory and includes a mimosa! Dinner is quite a bit smaller and offers most of the same options you see on the “lunch” side of brunch.
The Verdict
This one was just meh for us. I would go back if staying at the Grand to try the chicken and waffles, but I’m not going out of my way to get there.
