Would we return? Yes, especially for a nostalgic meal or with guests who love traditional comfort food. It’s a classic Disney experience, even if it isn’t always the meal we crave on a hot park day.
Liberty Tree Tavern seems to have a bit of a cult following. I book this one a lot for guests, but for years I had never actually had the pleasure myself. Something about a heavy Thanksgiving-style meal in the middle of a theme park just didn’t immediately call my name.
Then came the post-2020 Disney dining era. Character meals, a favorite for our crew, had not fully returned, and Magic Kingdom had limited table service options. Knowing Liberty Tree probably wouldn’t make its way into our regular rotation once the dining scene returned to normal, I decided it would be a fun choice for our multigenerational crew.
And honestly? It delivered exactly what it promised.
Liberty Tree truly is Thanksgiving dinner in the middle of Magic Kingdom. While our family’s actual Thanksgiving meals tend to lean a little more unique and less traditional, there was something wonderfully nostalgic about the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and classic holiday flavors.
Everyone left full and happy, especially Maui, whose allergy-friendly dessert included some unexpected blueberry surprises that he absolutely loved.
Years later, when HBelle was helping me plan what would become her final Walt Disney World trip, she didn’t ask for much. But she did have one request: “the Thanksgiving place in Magic Kingdom.”
I was so happy we could make that happen. Sometimes the restaurants we return to aren’t just about the menu, they’re about the memories attached to the table.

The Scene
Liberty Tree Tavern feels like stepping into colonial America with a Disney twist. The dining rooms are filled with historic details, warm wood tones and nods to America’s early days.
The atmosphere is calm and traditional, making it a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Magic Kingdom. This isn’t a quick meal you squeeze between attractions. It’s a chance to sit down, slow down and enjoy a little Disney history.
A small practical note: the upstairs bathroom situation is…interesting. 😂 It feels like a leftover from another era before accessibility considerations were as thoughtfully integrated into design. It’s worth knowing before you go, especially if someone in your party has mobility challenges. There is a single accessible option on the lower floor.
The Menu
Thanksgiving. Straight up.
The all-you-care-to-enjoy meal features classic holiday favorites like turkey, pot roast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and more. It’s familiar, comforting and designed to feel like a big family gathering.
Our meal was enjoyable, and we appreciated that Disney was able to accommodate allergy needs while still creating a fun dessert experience. Maui’s blueberry-filled treat was a definite highlight.

Our Take
Liberty Tree Tavern is a restaurant we appreciate more for the experience than because it’s something we crave every trip.
The food is good, but it is also a lot. A heavy meal of turkey, stuffing and all the fixings in the middle of a hot Orlando afternoon may not be everyone’s ideal park strategy — especially if you’re planning to immediately jump on thrill rides afterward. 😂
That said, if you’re visiting during the holidays, celebrating a special occasion or simply want that traditional Thanksgiving feeling without waiting until November, Liberty Tree is a fun choice.
Magic Tip: if you happen to be dining during the afternoon parade, there is a small porch area outside the restaurant that guests may be able to use for viewing. Many people don’t realize it’s available, so it can be a great little spot to enjoy the parade away from the crowds. Maui and Big Guy loved watching Festival of Fantasy on their own private patio.
Liberty Tree may not be our every-trip restaurant, but it has earned its place in our Disney memories.
