Would we return? It’s the perfect spot when I don’t have the patience for quick service and need to stave off hanger. So, yeah. That happens every now and then. 😉
With so many big-name dining experiences at Magic Kingdom, The Plaza can sometimes fade into the background. But for guests looking for a relaxed meal in the middle of the park, it’s a lovely option that offers something a little different.
The Scene
The Plaza feels like a little Main Street escape. The turn of the century details fit perfectly with the area, and the location makes it especially appealing for a mid-day break. Grab a table, enjoy the castle views and take a few minutes away from the Florida sunshine and park crowds. The restaurant itself is light, bright and airy, and that feeling carries into the menu. While many Magic Kingdom table service restaurants lean heavily into immersive themes, The Plaza is more about taking a break, enjoying the setting and slowing down.
The Food
The menu features classic American favorites with a little Disney magic mixed in.
You’ll find sandwiches, salads and a variety of entrées, along with one of The Plaza’s biggest draws — its famous ice cream creations.
I personally love stopping in for a salad on a sunny afternoon or sharing an ice cream treat with the kids before heading back out for more rides. It’s a refreshing pause from the energy of Magic Kingdom and a nice option when you want a table service meal that won’t take over your entire park day.

Our Take
We appreciate the Plaza because it knows what it is. It’s not a destination meal that requires a special strategy or a must-do reservation months in advance. It’s a pleasant, low-stress option in a prime spot.
The size works in its favor. It feels more intimate than many park restaurants, and the location makes it an easy choice when you want to step out of the crowds for a bit without leaving the magic behind.
Spooky Magic Tip: If you’re attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, consider booking an early dinner and requesting a window seat closest to Tomorrowland. During the party, guests entering through the alternate entrance often pass right by The Plaza, making it a fun spot to watch the costumes go by while you eat. It’s a small detail, but it’s one of those moments that adds an extra layer of Disney fun to the evening.
