Boasting a waitlist most of its opening hours, Trader Sam’s is a Disneyland favorite (so much so it also has an incarnation at Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort). Disney purists will love all of the references and throwbacks strewn about the small tiki bar and throughout the menu. And even Disney noobs can appreciate the libations and noshes, especially those that come with entertainment!
The Menu
The Enchanted Tiki Bar offers up a menu that’s about 50% drinks and 50% eats. The food menu is pretty small, but there are several winners. The drinks are plentiful and fun, so be sure to peruse the cocktails while you’re waiting.
Tiki La Casita
Jose Cuervo Traditional Tequila, Guava Puree, Pineapple Juice, Falernum, Lime Juice, Clement Creole Orange Shrubb, Orange Bitters
Hala Kahiki
Plantation Pineapple Rum, fresh Lemon Juice, Honey Syrup, Falernum and Peychaud’s Bitters
Atmosphere
This little enchanted hole in the wall is filled to the brim with tchotchkes and references to Jungle Cruise history. The aura is punctuated with bells, yells and thunderstorms as guests order “interactive” drinks.
There is usually a wait, so guests can enjoy the area around the restaurant shared with Tangaroa Terrace, which often features live music in the evenings and a gorgeous fireplace.
The Verdict
This is a fun one! Head over after the parks or mid-day to escape the crowds.
