Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno with Magic Memories Mayhem
It’s no secret that this crew loves the Epcot area resorts. Beach Club? Anytime! Yacht Club? Our favorite club staff! Boardwalk? In the running for our second fave resort! And that’s where today’s dining review takes us. The Boardwalk has seen a refreshing over the last couple of years with the re-imagining of Flying Fish and the addition of the delicious Ample Hills Creamery, the perfectly themed Abracadabar and the warm and welcoming Trattoria Il Forno.
We first slid into Trattoria a few months after its debut thanks to a last minute opening during our vacation. Clara had also been wanting to try the new place to see how they well they could handle allergies. Turns out they handle them well, as Clara and her crew find themselves there a couple times a month now. That may or may not have something to do with the presence of a certain long-haired princess who frequents Trattoria. 😉 More on that later.

The Food

Trattoria’s open air kitchen produces some of the yummiest Italian dishes we’ve tried on property. Everything is rich and decadent and just what you’d want an Italian dinner to be as you stretch your dinner hour to maybe two. As with most table service restaurants, they can also tweak the menu a bit here and there as long as they have ingredients on hand. We’ve ordered “off menu” even without allergies a couple times and have been accommodated easily.

Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast

As much as we love dinner, I think breakfast (and brunch and even lunch!) is our new fave. Of course, we love a character meal, but in addition to the fun of having Flynn, Punzie, Eric and Ariel chat over coffee and pastries, the food here is bomb. And I don’t use “bomb” often. ‘Cause I’m old. But it’s worth the phrase. The sweetest little princess ever to grace the Boardwalk helped our crew get a last minute seating on my birthday. The seven of us ordered almost all the entrees on the breakfast menu and none of them, not one, disappointed. If you’re asking my opinion, the Ship Wreck is tops, but you really can’t go wrong!

And, sorry, they were hangry. I got a couple quick pics, but I promise to go back soon. Ya know, just for better images.

Now that I’ve made myself hungry, let’s talk characters. This is such a fun roster for breakfast that pleases little princesses and, um, taller…yeah, taller princesses alike. Flynn, Rapunzel, Eric and Ariel make their way around the restaurant chatting up tables, signing autographs and taking pictures. In true character meal fashion, there is a group dance/parade where your little royals can strut around the restaurant with their storybook friends.

I will warn you that while dinner is usually a breeze to grab now, even last minute, breakfast is another story. You’ll want to be on the phone (or app or computer) for this one at 180 days (or have your travel agent do that mess for you!). Otherwise, you’re doomed to checking obsessively every time you have a free moment until you arrive. This one’s worth it, though.

Have you tried either meal at Trattoria? What did you think? Share in the comments! Bon Voyage!
