On my 39th birthday in 2023, we accidentally started this Capture Your Moment series with a fabulous Hollywood Studios session. On our next trip to the vacation kingdom, we tried our luck at Epcot. We didn’t love our Epcot session, but to test the waters, we snagged a last minute session at Animal Kingdom. With another great experience in the absolutely photogenic 4th park that I decided to give the OG Disney World park a shot with a Fantasyland and Beyond session. Since we started celebrating the last year of my 30s, I snagged another last minute session to finish the series and start my 40s with a little magic!

What is Capture Your Moment?

We are big fans of PhotoPass and love that with the service, everyone, even shutterbug mom, gets in the photos. Capture Your Moment plusses that and gives you your own private PhotoPass photog. You also have an assistant (for crowd control and creative) for a 20-minute shoot in the park.

What do you need to know?

  • Reservations are highly recommended! Magic Kingdom is the only park I’ve seen without availability since we started the series (check at 60 days for best options). I was able to grab Studios about two weeks prior to our December trip. Additionally, Epcot and Animal Kingdom reservations were both showing availability the day before when I checked for each. Fantasyland and Beyond was also available a couple weeks prior, so there may be more availability as this gains popularity.
  • Inquire on the day of at the PhotoPass shop in each park for availability if you weren’t able to get an advanced reservation.
  • Currently, the cost is $99 and includes the shoot only. Photos are included in Memory Maker and/or can be purchased individually.
  • You will check check in at the PhotoPass desk inside Town Square Theater for the Main Street and Castle sessions.
  • You and the photog can discuss any ideas you have for locations, groupings, celebrations, etc. S/he will also let you know of any areas off limits (Galaxy’s Edge, for example) in the park.
  • Once you’re ready, the clock starts and you can strike a pose!

The Review

If you made your way to this review from our previous shoots, you’ll see that we were gaga for our Studios experience. It was most definitely “worth it” for my crew!! Our Epcot experience didn’t garner the same enthusiasm, unfortunately. I may not have rebooked another shoot had the Epcot session been our first. The following Animal Kingdom experience, while the sweatiest yet, was also a great experience. Our first Magic Kingdom shoot was lovely, so I was excited to finish out the current locations with a second Kingdom shoot. With had a solid ten days off school for Thanksgiving break, we slid down to Florida for a long weekend before our big family feast. I was craving some magical holiday cheer, so this was the perfect way to start the break We arrived a bit early, so we did a little shopping  on Main Street, as check-in is in Town Square Theater right at the park entrance. We also popped into the back corner of the confectionery for the first time to check out the specialty popcorn counter! This was really fun, and we might have a new favorite flavor. If you’re visiting during the holidays, check out the peppermint popcorn! As we have been, we really let the photographer team take control of the session. They had several good locations with some being the same we had shot at during our previous session. Next time I’ll definitely spend more time on Main Street and hopefully not during parade time. This is the only time we’ve had the assistant bail before the photographer was finished, so he was running double duty with crowd control and snapping pics. I also noticed that all of our pictures this time around were in portrait. All of this aside, I thought the photos turned out really well, and the colors really popped this time around!
