Best for: Guests looking for a relaxed resort meal, travelers staying at the Yacht Club and looking for a break from the theme park hustle and bustle
Serving: Breakfast, lunch and dinner with coastal-inspired dishes, seafood and classic favorites
The Scene: A polished New England dining room with nautical details and a quieter Yacht Club feel
Must-try: Hand Beer-battered Fish & Chips
Would we return? If we were staying at the Yacht Club, possibly. It’s a lovely option, but with so many Epcot-area dining choices nearby, it isn’t our first pick.

While we absolutely adore Disney’s Beach Club Resort, we don’t spend quite as much time with her more reserved, proper and grown-up older sister — Disney’s Yacht Club. 😂

We typically end up at Yacht Club when we find a better deal than Beach Club, so it makes sense that we haven’t spent as much time exploring the dining options there.

As we’ve mentioned in previous reviews and posts, we like to be Disney-ed when visting Walt Disney World and Disneyland. If the princesses aren’t sashaying around our pancakes, servers throwing insults and straws or there’s something really special, we’re likely going to skip it.

However, sometimes convenience wins. And, you know I’m always willing to try something new for YOU! 😉

We were wasting a few hours before we made our way back to the airport, so we decided to tour the gingerbread displays at the Epcot area resorts one November. We got to the Yacht Club, and that famous kid theme song started…

“Mooooom, I’m huuungry!”

My first thought was Beaches and Cream, alas, no reservations availed themselves, so we snagged a lunch spot at Ale and Compass. We also could’ve easily gotten a walk-up, as there were only about a half dozen parties in the restaurant despite it being prime lunch hour.

The Scene

Ale & Compass has a comfortable nautical feel that fits beautifully within Yacht Club.

The restaurant is inviting with a crisp New England-inspired design that feels sophisticated without feeling stuffy. Part of the dining room is enclosed, while the back portion opens toward the hallway of windows overlooking the area near Stormalong Bay.

It’s a completely different vibe from the energy of the parks. You can absolutely slow down, enjoy a conversation and take a little break from the Disney buzz.

The Food

The menu focuses on New England-inspired dishes, seafood and classic favorites.

We didn’t actually order the dishes that initially caught our eye because we followed our server’s recommendations instead. While the meal was enjoyable, if we return, I’d be more likely to explore some of the specialties and signature dishes that better showcase what Ale & Compass does.

Our Take

Ale & Compass is a lovely option to the Yacht Club, especially if you’re looking for a more relaxed resort dining experience. The atmosphere is polished without feeling overly formal, and it’s a nice option when you want to slow down and enjoy a meal away from the parks.

For our family, it’s not necessarily a must-do every trip. The Epcot resort area has so many incredible dining choices, and we tend to gravitate toward restaurants that bring either a bigger experience or something we can’t easily recreate at home.

That said, I wouldn’t hesitate to return on a resort day while staying at the Yacht Club. Ale & Compass earns its place as a dependable, convenient option when you’re already spending time in the area.
