Would we return? If we’re staying at the Grand Floridian, absolutely possible if we’ve already eaten at 1900. We wouldn’t currently make a special trip just for the meal.

While we’ve stayed at the Grand Floridian a number of times, we had never made a real point of dining anywhere at the flagship resort aside from 1900 Park Fare. And we dined there…a lot. In general, at Disney World, I want to be immersed in the magic and tend to pass by things that could be easily replicated at home. While the cafe is lovely, it just didn’t pull those Disney heart strings for me.

But when our beloved 1900 Park Fare had not yet returned after the 2020 closures, I finally gave in to the hundreds of Instagram posts and TikToks promising that Grand Floridian Café brunch was something special.

During a summer trip with Scarlet and her littles, we happened to be staying at the Grand Floridian. With limited morning table service options available at the resort, we grabbed an easy walk-up spot and decided to give brunch a try.

The Scene

The restaurant fits beautifully within the Grand Floridian, offering a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere compared to some of the resort’s bigger dining experiences. It’s a lovely place to enjoy a meal while taking in the details of one of Disney’s most iconic resorts. Filled with natural light in the daytime, it feel light, airy and welcoming. For guests already exploring the Grand Floridian, it’s an easy addition to a resort day or a convenient option before heading to Magic Kingdom.

The Food

The brunch menu is the main draw here, with a mix of sweet and savory options that fits the café setting well. You’ll find breakfast favorites alongside more indulgent choices, and the addition of a mimosa option makes it a fun choice for a slower morning.

The French toast was a standout for us, and there were several dishes that sounded worth trying on a future visit. Dinner offers a smaller menu with many of the same classic flavors, though the brunch offerings are what tend to get the most attention.

Our Take

Grand Floridian Café is a lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting, but for us, it falls into the category of “sure, if we’re already there.”

Our biggest issue during our visit was actually the service. Our server was slow to check in, and we had longer waits than expected for drinks, food and refills. Hopefully it was simply an off day, but it did impact the overall experience.

Would we return? If we were staying at the Grand Floridian and wanted an easy meal, we wouldn’t rule it out. The chicken and waffles did look good. But compared to other Disney dining experiences, it isn’t currently one we would go out of our way to book.
