Welcome back to another Disney Tip Tuesday, our weekly bite-sized blog post offering up a fun tip for visiting your favorite Disney destinations.

Wow! It’s been a hot minute, but after the whirlwind of May, we’re back with your next tip about…tipping!

A lot of my guests often ask about tipping at Walt Disney World, and it’s not too different than tipping anywhere else. For those of you wanting a quick rundown of tipped positions at both Disney World and Disneyland, you’re in luck! This week we’ve got a list of tipped positions at the resorts and parks with a suggested amount.

Tipped Positions at Disney

  • Luggage/bell services – $1 per bag
  • Valet – $2
  • M(h)ousekeeping – $1/person staying in the room each day
  • Servers and bartenders – 15-20% of the pre-tax bill
  • Room service – 15-20% of the pre-tax bill
  • VIP Tour Guides – This is wildly different among different people; some tip 15-20%, others a fixed dollar amount ranging from $50-$500; one hour’s cost
  • Cruise captains (chartered boats) – Again, this one varies; 10% of the cruise total, fixed amount from $50-100

Not all cast members can accept cash tips, so don’t be offended if yours is declined. Remember, though, you can always leave cast compliments via guest services or My Disney Experience!
