Boardwalk Inn & Villas

Walt Disney World

Vintage Charm, Bright Lights, Disney Magic

We’d admired Disney’s Boardwalk Inn from across Crescent Lake for years, whether from our room at Beach Club or while strolling the waterfront. In December 2012, we finally decided it was time to stay there ourselves.

Maybe it was the Christmas music drifting onto our balcony. Maybe it was the garlands dripping with ornaments. Or maybe it was simply Disney at Christmastime. Whatever the reason, we fell in love.

The charming nooks and crannies, the lively Boardwalk just outside the lobby and the resort’s unique personality had us wishing we’d booked our entire vacation there instead of just a weekend. Since that first stay, we’ve returned again and again, and every visit reminds us why this remains one of our favorite deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World.

Some Club Level rooms are located outside of the secured area.

    Is Club Level Worth It?

Club Level can be a fun way to add extra magic to your Disney stay, but whether it’s worth the splurge depends on how you’ll use it. We break down the perks, costs and who it’s really best for in our guide to Club Level at Walt Disney World.

    Shopping & Sundries

Gift Shop at Disney's Boardwalk Inn and Villas

Shopping at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is centered around the shops along the boardwalk.

The charming faux storefronts of Disney’s Character Carnival, Thimbles & Threads and Screen Door General Store make it look like you’re browsing several different shops, but they are all part of one connected shopping location.

Inside, you’ll find Disney merchandise, apparel, accessories, pins, snacks, groceries, spirits and other vacation essentials.

    Dining

One of the best perks of staying at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas is having so many dining and entertainment options right outside your door. From casual bites to signature meals, the boardwalk makes it easy to grab a snack, enjoy a drink or turn your evening into an experience without traveling far.

    Disney's Boardwalk Bakery

    Trattoria al Forno

Trattoria al Forno offers Italian-inspired dishes in a warm, inviting atmosphere right along the boardwalk. Breakfast and dinner are available, with the restaurant continuing to be a convenient option for guests looking for a relaxed meal without leaving the resort area. We’ve had a great experience here with allergy accommodations. The chef and cast members were fantastic about helping navigate options, making it a great choice for families who need a little extra care when dining at Disney.

    Boardwalk Deli

Boardwalk Deli is a convenient quick service option located right on the boardwalk. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, it’s a great spot for a meal, a quick snack or a sweet treat while enjoying the atmosphere of the area. It can get busy during peak times, but it’s also a handy stop for Disney refillable mug guests looking for a beverage break.

    Boardwalk Ice Cream

Boardwalk Ice Cream is the perfect stop for a classic Disney treat while strolling along the boardwalk. Grab a cone, sundae or sweet snack and enjoy a little old-fashioned boardwalk nostalgia without having to go far from your room.

    Abracadabar

AbracadaBar is a magician-inspired lounge tucked along the boardwalk, bringing a little golden age of magic and mystery to your Disney evening. Enjoy creative cocktails, drinks and small bites while taking in the whimsical details of this hidden gem.

    Belle Vue Lounge

A cozy, relaxed spot tucked inside Disney’s Boardwalk Inn with comfortable seating and quieter atmosphere, it’s a great place to enjoy a drink, meet up with friends or take a break from the busier areas of the resort. I’ve hosted many meetings and interviews here over the years because it’s typically a mellow spot with a nice balance of Disney atmosphere without a lot of noise or distraction.

    More Dining

Beyond the main dining locations, Disney’s Boardwalk offers plenty of places to grab a snack, a drink or a quick bite while enjoying the atmosphere.

For a quick meal, Flying Fish offers a more elevated dinner experience with an open kitchen featuring seafood and steak. Leaping Horse Libations is a casual poolside option serving burgers, hot dogs and refreshing drinks, while the Pizza Window is perfect for a classic slice enjoyed along the boardwalk.

If you’re looking for a drink break, BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas serves up frozen margaritas and other refreshing drinks from its walk-up kiosk.

And for the sweet seekers, The Cake Bake Shop® Bakery by Gwendolyn Rogers brings cakes, cookies, pies, macarons, coffee and other treats to the boardwalk. You can also satisfy a Disney craving with a hot funnel cake piled high with toppings from the Funnel Cake Cart or grab a coffee and pastry from Carousel Coffee.

Disney’s Boardwalk is currently having a major glow-up, and we’re excited to see what’s next. With new additions already arriving, we’re hoping this refresh brings even more dining, entertainment and nighttime experiences to this classic Disney destination.

    Recreation & Activities

Disney’s Boardwalk offers plenty of ways to enjoy your resort day beyond the parks. With three pools, an arcade, a fitness center and activities around Crescent Lake, it’s easy to fill an afternoon without ever needing to leave the area.

Community Hall on the Villa side is the hub for many recreation options, including games, rentals, tennis and pickleball equipment. For exploring, rent a Surrey bike and cruise around Crescent Lake, or take advantage of the jogging paths that loop through the Epcot resort area. Guests can also enjoy guided fishing excursions, let the kids burn energy at the Luna Park Crazy Play Area or head to Side Show Games Arcade near the Luna Park Pool.

If vacation means keeping up with your fitness routine (we see you, impressive Disney vacation warriors), Muscles & Bustles Health Club offers workout equipment, a sauna and additional fitness amenities.

    Around the Resort

Take your time exploring the halls, artwork and hidden details throughout the resort, then step outside to discover viewing areas where you can watch animals roam the savanna throughout the day.

From cultural displays and storytelling to Cast Members sharing the traditions behind the art and design, there’s so much to discover beyond the parks. Give yourself permission to wander a little here. The details are half the fun.

    More Magic Tips

A few tips go a long way toward making your Baordwalk experience even more magical!

    • Use the back entrance to Epcot. One of the biggest perks of staying at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is the easy walk to Epcot through the International Gateway entrance. It’s usually much less hectic than the front entrance, and you’ll be strolling into the park like a pro.

    • Walk to Hollywood Studios instead of waiting for the boat. The boat is a fun option, but the walk is often just 10 to 15 minutes for most guests. You can even cut through the pool area to shave off a few extra steps.

    • Spend some time in Belle Vue Lounge. This cozy little lounge has a hidden bit of Disney history. Tune in to the radios, and you’ll hear broadcasts from the 1930s, adding to the vintage charm of the space.

    • Let us help you plan the details. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn has so many little details and location perks that can make a big difference in your vacation. An experienced travel agent can help you choose the right room, plan your dining and make the most of your stay. Our complimentary planning services take the guesswork out of the details so you can focus on the fun part: counting down to your trip.

Our Take on the Boardwalk Inn

Yes, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn can be on the higher end of the nightly rates, but it’s one of those resorts we continue to choose again and again. The location, the atmosphere and the overall energy of Crescent Lake keep pulling us back.

There’s just something special about being able to walk to Epcot, stroll over to Hollywood Studios or spend an evening exploring the dining and entertainment options around the lake. We’ve found ourselves leaving the parks early more than once because the boardwalk itself is worth enjoying. The nighttime entertainment, the performers, the lights and the easygoing evening vibe make it feel like there’s still plenty of magic waiting after you tap out of the parks.

The cast members here have always been a highlight for us, too. They bring a little extra fun and personality to our stays, and those small interactions are often the moments that stick with you.

We also love that Boardwalk continues to evolve. As the area gets a little glow up with new dining and entertainment options coming in, we’re excited to see this classic resort get a fresh burst of energy while keeping the charm that made us fall in love with it in the first place.

The price may make it a splurge, but when we’re looking for a resort with an unbeatable location, plenty to do and a little extra Disney personality, the Boardwalk is one resort to which we’ll happily keep returning.
